Meet the Artists
True South Puzzle Company's first series features the work of the Anderson Design group—a full-service design firm specializing in hand-rendered design and illustration. A few years ago, they began creating poster art to showcase their hometown of Nashville, Tennessee—all rendered in a classic time-honored style of the golden age of poster art. The Spirit of Nashville Collection, as it became known, was a smashing success, and this award-winning series of classic poster art has won international acclaim. Fueled by the popularity of the Music City designs, they have gone on to create several new lines of prints that celebrate other American cities national parks, coastal living, vintage advertising themes, and international travel destinations. Each of the hand-illustrated designs is created and printed with pride in Nashville.
Lucie Rice is an award winning illustrator and designer who has been creating whimsical and modern imagery professionally for over 10 years. Although her work can be found in print and web internationally, after moving to Nashville in 2007, Rice was compelled to create for a local audience. Inspired by the natural beauty, architecture, nightlife and music that make Nashville so special, she has recently created a series of designs that celebrate our fair city. Offered in print and note card form, this collection features both the iconic landmarks and the small, sometimes quirky, businesses and neighborhoods that give the city its charm
Ligia Teodosiu is an award winning designer and illustrator who has been proud to call Nashville, Tennessee home for over seven years. Born in Romania but raised in the United States, Ligia showed a natural aptitude for art and illustration from an early age. It wasn’t until much later that she realized her obsession and turned down graduate school to pursue design and illustration. Ligia enjoys working in a variety of styles, the challenge of solving design problems, and is never found far from a good cup of coffee.
Nate Padavick specializes in map design and illustration. His maps have been reproduced in books, magazines, newspapers, posters, websites, and apps, as well as on beer cans, walls, greeting cards, and even dishware.
Nate lives and draws in Somerville, Massachusetts. He loves to take long bike rides, hike in the mountains, go on fun vacations, swim in ponds, cook good food, and shop at farmer's markets.
Along with his sister and studio partner Salli Swindell, Nate is the founder of the websites They Draw & Cook and They Draw & Travel, the internet's largest collection of illustrated recipes and maps created by artists from around the world. These sites have over 400,000 followers worldwide.
Nate is also the co-creator (again, with his sister Salli) of the book Make Map Art, a map-making toolkit recently published by Chronicle Books.
